This past week, we’ve had a few warmer days that have made me begin dreaming of Spring. I’m itching to get outside and start planting some flowers or maybe a small garden in our back yard. But this morning, we woke to another blistery, snowy, blowy day. Usually I try to stay out of the snow as much as possible. On snowy days, I prefer warm fires, hot coffee, and cozy blankets to going outside and having snowball fights or building a snowman. But today, the kids persuaded me to take them down to our neighborhood park to play in the snow. There are a few kiddie hills there that we hadn’t tried sledding down yet and I figured this might be our last chance this Winter (fingers crossed it will be anyway). So I agreed.
And we ended up having a blast.
At first, Hudson wasn’t so sure about sledding, but we assured him it would be lots of fun.
I can’t be completely certain, but I’m pretty sure he like it!
I love their facial expressions in these next few pictures.
I was quite happy just snapping pictures on the sidelines, but then these two convinced me to take a ride down with each of them. It was a little steeper and faster than I anticipated and I think I remember screaming as we flew down the mountain kiddie hill.
After we were all sufficiently wet and cold and all sledded out, we headed home for hot chocolate and a fire in the fireplace.
Good times indeed, but I’m still ready for Spring to get here!
