I feel like I’ve been doing all the grandparents a major disservice by only blogging about house projects these last few weeks. And now that January has completely flown by in a whirlwind of paint and kitchen disasters, it’s come down to me just dumping my iphone pictures out on the blog for a monthly update on our family happenings. Forgive me? I’ll do better next time. maybe.
Tyson began first grade in the local elementary school here. This wasn’t expected or planned, but it’s where we felt the Lord leading us for now. And so we follow Him, one step, one day at a time. Tyson is loving it. I miss having him at home, but I’m surviving. It helps that I have so many projects around the house to keep me busy. :)
According to Tyson, his favorite activities at school are (and these are subject to change daily so don’t hold me to any of these) : riding the bus, going to the water fountain, recess, lunch, and math.
Our goober kids that would rather be silly than smile nicely as I stand impatiently in the cold and try to snap “first day of school” pictures.
Finely everyone cooperated.
Although we live smack dab in the middle of the city, we’ve seen numerous deer and even a fox out running through the small patch of woods in our backyard. Pudge always alerts us when there’s a wild animal nearby and we all run to the big window to see what it is.
Can you see the deer just beyond our fence (almost centered above Pudge’s head) in this picture?
My two little helpers making cookies for their daddy. They get an A+ for licking the bowl.
It’s been a freezing cold month and we’ve had lots of snow days. I usually follow the kids outside for about five seconds, quickly snap a few snow pictures, and then run back inside to get warm. I will forever be a Floridian who can’t stand the cold. I love looking at it through the window, but that’s about as close as I like to get to that fluffy white stuff.
And January has also been full of snuggling up in warm blankets.
I’m hoping February is going to be bringing me a new kitchen. I’ll keep you posted. I also have a little kitchen project from the weekend to post on the blog. If you follow me on Instagram (I’m jaimejscott), then you’ve already seen a sneak peek.
And this guy is about to be 3 in a week!
Be back soon!
